In 1968, Jane Elliott decided to conduct an exercise to teach her all-white third-grade classroom the harsh realities of racism. To this day, Jane Elliott continues to be an advocate for change and justice. She has been a guest speaker and lecturer at many universities and was rewarded with the National Mental Health Association Award for Excellence in Education. Elliott was also featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1992.
