Connelly Library

EZ-Borrow and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) are services that provide access to resources beyond Connelly Library's collection. When you need something which we do not own (including books, journal articles, etc.), whether digitally or in print, we will attempt to borrow it on your behalf from another library. There is no cost to you for this service. ILL requests are usually fulfilled within one or two days; however, since we are requesting these materials from other institutions, we cannot guarantee timeframes.

How Does ILL Work?

Requesting Material:

• When you identify a resource you need that is not available in our library catalog, you can submit an ILL request : 
  • Submit an EZ-Borrow request if you are seeking a book
  • Submit an InterLibrary Loan (ILL) request if you are seeking a journal article OR book chapter

Receiving Material:

• Once the lending library has sent the item, you will be notified via email. Physical items, like books, can be picked up at the circulation desk, while digital items, like journal articles, are delivered directly to your email.

Returning Items:

• Books and other physical items must be returned by the due date, which is determined by the lending institution, and late items will incur fines. Digital copies are yours to keep.

Use for journal articles or book chapters

Directions to complete the ILL form :

• Insert your name and La Salle ID

Fill out the form :

• Journal Title OR Book Title

• Article Title OR Chapter Title

• Author

• ISSN / ISBN

• Month / year of publication

• Page number range

Click Submit ILL Request.

• If an item is unattainable, the ILL office will email the patron to inform them.

• If you are receiving an error, call 215-951-1293 to check that your library record is up to date and in good standing.

• Some items, like textbooks, are very difficult to acquire.

• Use the Article Locator button to submit requests directly from our databases.
