Marc Lamont Hill is a native of Philadelphia. He currently serves as a professor of media studies and urban education at Temple University. Hill has worked as a political commentator for Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN. Hill is mostly known for his activism. Hill serves as a board member on My5th which is a non-profit that educates youth about their legal rights and responsibilities. He also 9started a literacy project to increase school engagement. He teaches adult literacy courses for high-school dropouts. Hill is also an author of numerous books; Nobody: Casualties of America's War on the Vulnerable, from Ferguson to Flint and Beyond; The Classroom and the Cell; Conversations on Black Life in America; Beats, Rhymes, and the Classroom: Hip-Hop Pedagogy and the Politics of Identity.
