Accessing Digital Content with OpenAthens

Authenticating from Connelly Library Links

When accessing digital content using Connelly Library's access tools (i.e. Summon) or "library links" to digital content from Connelly's website, OpenAthens will prompt you to log in using your La Salle/LUNA credentials.

  • Navigate to the Connelly website to find resources. https://library.lasalle.edu/
  • When you click on a licensed resource (i.e. database, journal article, ebook, etc.), a new page will open prompting you to enter your username (your full La Salle email address: yourname@lasalle.edu). Click "next," and then enter your password.  (This is the password you use for Outlook, OneDrive, etc.)

Authenticating from Other Websites

If you locate a licensed digital resource on some other website (not Connelly's), look for a login link. (Most publisher websites will provide some sort of login link). Login links might contain terms such as:

  • "Check access"
  • “Login through your institution”
  • "Access through your institution"
  • "OpenAthens"

While the navigation may vary from publisher to publisher, after clicking on the login link, you will typically be prompted to specify “La Salle University" and then prompted to enter your La Salle/LUNA username and password. Please ignore the OpenAthens individual account login on the left side of the screen. Use the "Find your institution" login instead.
