The Gulf & Afghanistan Wars
Imaginative Representations of the Gulf & Afghanistan Wars
The collection's main focus is on imaginative representations of US military conflicts from 1990 onward, including the Persian Gulf War ("Operation Desert Shield" and "Operation Desert Storm", 1990-1991), the Afghan War (2001-2021), and the Iraq War or the Second Gulf War ("Operation Iraqi Freedom", 2003-2011). The collection includes films, memoirs, and novels related to these conflicts, as well as literary archives and artwork by veterans of these wars.
