Using Summon to Find e-Reference
Summon, our Web Scale Discovery software, allows you to easily find content in e-Reference books. It does not cover ALL our e-Reference books, but most are covered.
The box above allows you to search Summon for only reference material. You may want to add further filters, such as date and discipline (look at the left hand column). Remember that you will turn up both kinds of reference article, the short kind and the more detailed kind. Also in some cases you will not be directed to the specific article, but rather to the homepage of the reference book. Just search the topic you want (it will be on the sidebar to the right) and you will find the article.
You can search for terms and background on your subject in e-Reference books.
The MIT Encyclopedia of Communication Disorders (MITECD) is a comprehensive volume that presents essential information on communication sciences and disorders. The pertinent disorders are those that affect the production and comprehension of spoken language and include especially disorders of speech production and perception, language expression, language comprehension, voice, and hearing. Potential readers include clinical practitioners, students, and research specialists. Relatively few comprehensive books of similar design and purpose exist, so MITECD stands nearly alone as a resource for anyone interested in the broad field of communication disorders.
This book provides the latest academic material on emerging perspectives, treatment and care techniques, and therapeutic strategies to support individuals with autism spectrum disorders. It features a range of topics such as social skills, educational support, and assistive technologies.
