History Nursing Resources

Connelly Library collections include a plethora of historic material pertaining to nurses and nursing. Photographs, nursing organizational records, textbooks, memoirs, fictive works, and ephemera related to nurses and nursing are included in these collections.  

Special Collections

Nursing History Collection

Dr. Sandra Davis, who served as a La Salle nursing faculty member, donated a collection of historic nursing material to Connelly Library.  The collection was further expanded by Connelly librarians and contains nursing textbooks, nursing association records, and fiction written by and about nurses. 

 

        

 

The Imaginative Representations of the Vietnam War Collection

This collection provides a body of evidence demonstrating how creative interpretations of the Vietnam War, and the highly volatile era in which it took place, continue to evolve and influence perceptions of American popular culture. Included in this collection, are fictive and documentary works that portray nurses and nursing during the Vietnam War era.
