IMPORTANT NOTE: IB and AP participants will use the Free Library of Philadelphia (FLP) as their primary "information resource". A FLP library card is required. This card will give participants access to the print and online materials needed to meet the needs of their Program.  

Participants should see their School Administrator or Program Director for more information.

Using the Blue Tabs at the top of this guide

  • The Home tab is the Welcome page. It also provides basic information about the International Baccalaureate (IB)  programs,and a link and video about the Free Library of Philadelphia (FLP)
  • For help in creating your own Research Plan, see the Creating a Research Plan tab.  This tab includes a link to an example Research Plan, as well as a link to a blank plan that you can download and use with your own topics.
  • The Book Sources tab contains information about searching the FLP library catalog for books and e-books, as well as searching the e-book database directly.
  • The Magazine/Journal Articles tab contains tips for quickly evaluating relevant articles, databases for finding journal articles, and information on how to locate the full text of articles in journals, etc.
  • The Interlibrary Loan tab explains how the FLP can borrow materials from other libraries for your use.
