RefWorks Export Guide: Home

RefWorks Export Guide

To use RefWorks effectively, you must learn to use each Database Vendor's Export instructions.  Although they are frequently similar, each vendor has some unique features.  Some vendors allow for Direct Export and others require you to Export a text file to your computer and then run it through a filter to export to RefWorks.  Sometimes you must manually enter the bibliographic citation information into RefWorks by using the References tab.  Luckily most vendors do allow for Direct Export and more and more of them are creating this option all the time.

Use the tabs above to see the Export Instructions for the Vendors from whom we have Database subscriptions.

Here are two guides for using RefWorks.

Databases' Vendors

Not sure what Vendor the database you are using comes from?  Look on the Database Search Screen - the Vendor's name will always appear - usually on the top right or top left.

Some style guides require a DOI (Digital Object Identifier ).  However not every database currently supplies this.

If you need a DOI for a particular article use this link to find it
